I like the way it is now, but it's still pretty linear overall. Buff nonstop then do damage/heal, that's what most fights boil down too. Sync moves removing buffs was awful, but the idea behind bosses because able to reset them isn't terrible but doesn't tie together well with trainer moves and shit being limited use. Most normal JRPGS have a resource like MP or whatever.
