I'm just now getting into to comp pokemon and I'm trying to decide on a team. I don't expect to be winning any tournies any time soon so again apologies if my current team looks stupid at all as it's more geared to pokemon I like than stats. I would like something that can hold up its own to some degree atleast though.
So far the 3 I have I know I want to use undoubtedly.
Gengar(Timid)- Gengarite
Ability- Levitate
EV- 252 speed,252 sp.atk,4hp
Moves: Shadow Ball,Sludge Bomb,Focus Blast(?),Substitute(?)
Here's where Im having troubles with him. From what I understand it seems majority of people grab substitute but I'm kinda cautious of it. Gengar seems fairly squishy already so the last thing he seems to need is any kind of missing health. I'm also curious whether or not focus blast or dazzling gleam is effective on him at all.
Sylveon(modest)- No item(leftovers?)
EV-252 sp.atk,252 sp.d, 4 speed
Ability: Cute Charm
Moves:Draining kiss,Moonblast,Calm mind,Toxic(?)
Just looking for feedback on this one mostly with the 4th slot move. Toxic is temporary as I'm not sure what to fill it with. Enjoying this one alot so far her tankiness and ability to dish out damage at the same time is rad and carried many battles for me.
Lucario(adamant)-lucarionite?
Ability-steadfast(?)
EVs- 256 attack, 256 speed, 4hp
Moves:???????? (shadow claw, close combat, extreme speed, ice punch)
Heres where I'm really lost. I'd like to have a lucario on my team but I'm torn as to what he should be position wise. Im under the pretense that he's supposed to be a physical damage dealer although capable of sp.atk too if need be. I find the latter useless though since I have gengar already to fill that niche(correct me if I'm wrong though). Another thing to bring up is that gengar seems more reliable as the sweeper(?) so I'm not sure whose mega evolution I should be relying on.
