If you paid attention to the story you'd notice the subtle things like her asking if you dress yourself or if your mother does.
Unlike other gens, her development feels GENUINE and highly relatable (Unless you're an autistic manchild who never grew up).
Seeing her gain confidence on her own when she changed her outfit, to her practicing the Z-move and especially heading out to Kanto to become a trainer was beautiful.
People like her a LOT for a reason.
