Being fair, PokeSpe Red does kinda have a harem. Problem is though:

It doesn't help that Red himself has very little to offer as a character. Ash's aura is a canon thing, and the harems exist because he's had a million companions and lovers. Red didn't even win the Pokémon League because he was turned into ice and the Elite 4 worked for Team Rocket.
