I have given this much thought and I can't find a way to see how it can't be true. Of course it's not perfect. It's not a copy but Ever Grand City is clearly inspired by Shangri-La.

Gen 3 and 4 had the most forgettable E4 because they were trying to make ones as memorable as the 8 bit ones but couldn't since it was a whole new league. They hit their stride with Gen 5 but 6 and 7 are very debateable and not my favorite E4s.

Thought of this while working on teams that flawlessly beat Unova E4. Sounds like stupid pasttime for casuals, but might be fun, especially hard mode. Would anyone bother to give this a try to see if it's fun at all? I could refer in the trial run if there's any interest.
