I just had a really weird situation on showdown.
Enemy Mega-Charizard-X comes out and gets 1 dragon dance. It is fully mega evolved.
I put my Scarf Excadrill in.
Now notice that Charizard has 100 base speed, and also has a Dragon Dance down, this gives it 1.5x speed (the same as a choice scarf). Excadrill has base 88 speed.
Somehow, I outsped and OHKO'ed it with earthquake. How did I outspeed? I have no clue. Sandstorm was not up (there were no pokemon in the whole match that even cause sandstorm), plus Excadrill's ability is Mold Breaker anyway. My Excadrill is fully invested in speed with a Jolly nature, he swears that his Charizard was the same, he even showed me a screenshot.
I don't know how this was possible, the only thing I can think of is that he was lying.
