Regarding SwSh, the regular game is barely ok... However the Wild Area is insanely fun, the whole game should have been like that. Basically the first time I arrived to the Wild Area I didn't leave until my team was in the 30s, and I didn't even have the first badge.
It was really fun to see some stuff that you were not supposed to fight and then commit myself to train until being able to beat them without progressing the story. Also couldn't use traded mom's because after Lv 20 they don't obey without first badge.
So this whole team was caught in game. After that the main game became a breeze, but it was good since I could just blaze through it and then come back to the Wild Area to keep having stupid fun.
Also in just that first visit to Wild Area (in which I didn't leave for about 20 hours) I got my Dex to 140 purely on Surprise Trades and money to 300000 just selling all sorts of treasure and items I found/was given.
