Anyway, both were made by different studios, and also have no relation to each other. Origins, though is, yeah, an alternate take on a Kanto adaptation. Since OP's main point of interest was FireRed, he might as well watch Origins, which reuses the same designs. Although the main series' Kanto arc has more of that "weird and untouched world" atmosphere of the early Pokemon media.
