Pretty much every regional bird is a legitimate choice for an ingame team, especially staraptor, toucannon, and bravest bird even without gale wings. The only one that dips into shitmon land is noctowl, but I guess he does have psychic moves at least.
That aside, I've used my fair share of shitmon teams. For example, my last BW team which was just liepard, audino, sawk, and galvantula. I can tell you there is no difficulty to be found in this series, so you may as well just use what you want.
