>>52509106>I understand Protect is good, but I'm not exactly sure how to use it.When you're not 100% sure what move the enemy will go for, you can use Protect to scout out what it's using, something that is EXTREMELY helpful if you're utilizing Set Mode.
In addition, it can be useful to stall out the PP of scary moves like Blizzard or Hydro Pump.
Of course, it's not always 100% foolproof if you're at low HP since the AI will go for whatever can kill, but for the most part, Protect is either an information or stalling tool.
>What do I even want to shoot for in terms of team composition? What I like to do for the E4 is to plan backwards so you know what you need for the later fights and what you can afford to sacrifice.
>For Wallace, a Vileplume or strong Electric-type is good. >For Drake, a good Water or Ice-type with access to Ice Beam can easily deal with his entourage of Dragons. >For Glacia, a strong Fighting-type or a bulky Water-type is good here. >For Phoebe, you ideally want a Dark-type, but noting how you don't have any Dark-types left, you can probably make-do with any decently strong physical attacker like Exploud or preferably Zangoose with the Shadow Ball TM. Phoebe doesn't hit too hard and you'll probably have a level advantage anyway.>For Sidney, you can wreck him with a Fighting-type pretty easily. Here's a few notable mons:
>Magneton (Excellent typing with Steel resisting almost everything, plus great Special Attack)>Hariyama (Thick Fat allows it to tank Glacia's Ice-type moves, plus it deals monstrous damage AND tanks exceptionally well)>Tentacruel/Pelipper (Both excellent Ice Beam users for Drake)>Vileplume (Set up Sunny Day and Solar Beam every single one of Wallace's mons)Of course, you can swap out stuff like Magneton for Raichu or Manectric, Tentacruel for Swampert, and all that, but ideally you want to bring something that can cover all your bases.
