They're only fairly bad because the pacing in X/Y was absolutely godawful, and they never did anything with the potential of a fucking Elite Four member being one of the top admins of Team Flare.

Debatable. One can say he's a Cyrus expy right down to the team. Yeah, I'll buy that. But he was the first to talk about humanitarian issues on a large scale, where as Cyrus was 'PEOPLE DON'T NEED SPIRIT'. Was he believable? Yes. Did it match his team? Hell the fuck no, especially since these guys aren't really coinciding with his views. If anything, it seems like they combined two concepts into one.
