I think Shauna is one of the worst Pokemon characters of all time. Her design reads like weird fetishbait. Her airhead dialogue is very similar to Bianca's, but without any of the things that made Bianca relatable (insecurities, issues at home, etc). Her having a crush on you is very throwaway, compared to something like the Yancy/Curtis sidequest where you actually get to know them over the course of a lengthy sidequest. If you really wanted some French romance, Serena was right there. She and Calem are designed like plain young adults, so it isn't nearly as cringey.
