>>41721225>>41722397I knew it'd be an unpopular opinion even among spiderbros but I really just don't see it. The take on Dewpider and Araquanid couldn't be more off. The diving bell spider pulls air bubbles from the surface into the water to basically allow it to be a normal spider but under water. The Dewpider line could have gone the Galvantula line and just said Spider + Element, done. But more thought went into it as
>>41719940 said it reverses the idea to explain its element by weaving a water bubble that allows it to exist on land and so you get one of the most unique effects in the Pokémon franchise in a transparent bubble around the head of the mon. Along with the spindly legs and unique glowing eyes giving it this cool vibe that feels like a mix between some kind of underwater exploration vehicle and a War of the Worlds esque alien. You cite things like Galvantulas fur and eyes but that's literally just spider attributes the way spiders normally have them + element. Look at how Araquanid changes the features around for the design like having fangs hang down vertically. The crazy placement and shape of the eyes wrapping around the head and jutting out in three dimensional shapes at the top. The bubbles at the top of the legs, the fact that the legs come from the abdomen instead of the head like normal spiders. Everything about this is an original and inspired design. It's in no way just a spider that exists in our world and it's better for that. I'll never tell anyone they're wrong for liking Galvantula suffers from a problem that many electric and fire types do and tend to go red animal on fire or static-y yellow animal and call it a day. I don't think Galvantula pushes back enough. I want to see more electricity in it's design. Like I'm not saying this should have been the way they go but Electevire's incorporation of wires. Galvantula could have had something like wire fangs. An electrical current running between the ridges in the back etc
