Birds defeat bugs only bc they are faster bigger stronger, this can be shown only using their Base Stats.
So we are only left with Fighting, which are merely stronger Normal types with somewhat higher SpDef. Yeah I guess an Aerial Ace kind of attack would leave a Fighter defenseless. But why ? Sure a Martial Artist mon would be overtrained in normal combat, and aerial attacks might confuse them. They would also be unprotected against whirlwinds, but as much as any other Normal mon. But all these can be described with Base Stats and Specialised attacks with certain effects.
