Based on those comments earlier about our highest defense mon being really low compared to GF's, I was wondering how our Pokemon's stat averages compare to GF's. Here's the outcome of my calculations. The numbers are in the order of HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, Speed. Note: I discounted megas and some secondary forms in the GF dex calculations for more accurate comparison.
GF Dex:
81.6 90.1 83.6 83.5 83.6 78
Sage Dex:
84.7 86.7 83.1 82.0 84.7 78.6
Difference:
+1.3 -3.3 -0.5 -1.5 +1.1 +0.6
A few observations:
>Attack has by far the highest gap, with the rest being quite low
>Without Orbatom's insane 200 speed dragging up sage's speed average, our dex's average speed drops by a whole point to 77.6, lower than GF's average but only by a very small margin
>Due to the much larger number of Pokemon in the official dex, Shedinja's base 1 HP has a very small effect on the average HP in comparison to Orbatom's speed's effect on our dex's average speed, only changing the average HP by -0.21
>Despite the supposed gap between our Pokemon's defense and Game Freak's, the average defense is only 0.5 points apart, the smallest difference of any stat
