I remember there's another interview where someone straight up mentioned the Gen 2 leaks to Masuda and asked if Sirfetch'd was based on the leaked Gen 2 Farfetch'd evo and the response was a non-answer that essentially just said "Farfetch'd is based on British knights!"
It's honestly a bit impressive how they manage to keep an absolute fuckload of stuff under wraps and refuse to talk about anything significant. They're really dedicated to keeping the franchise as bland and inoffensive as possible.
