Running Elegant Emerald hack, which has pretty small changes, mostly just Phys/Special split and a little more wild pokemon variety. Small changes to Gym leader teams too but not much, like Roxanne has a Shuckle instead of 2nd Geodude and a few moves here and there.

Missile the Taillow to Brawly, getting oneshot by Makuhita Vital Throw with no Bulk Ups or anything, really wasn't expecting that. Was Guts + Naughty too, RIP.
Man-o-war the Tentacool to Grovyle Pursuit crit in rival fight. Sucks because I love Tentacruel and had spent a decent amount of time Exp-sharing it up since it has zero killing power until level 19.
Lion the Electrike got killed by a random mon while grinding, which felt awful. Had gen 3 Lightning Rod rather than Static and a terrible nature though, so not the best Electrike in the world, but still.
Almost lost my Aron to a Magnemite trainer with Magnet Pull too but for some reason the trainer didn't spam Sonic Boom so I barely killed it in time.
