I wouldn't doubt that some of us are female or identify with feminine qualities, but a lot of guys I've known in roleplaying communities say they prefer playing as female characters because of the perception of better designs, customization, personality, and whatnot. Which gets weird when it ends up becoming a lot of "cute girls doing cute things" more than anything else, but whatever floats your boat.
Kinda like how Touhou Project is so popular.
