>>28791865Honestly, Charizard is one of the Pokemon that benefited the most from getting Mega Evolution. It was sort of a Jack of all trades, master of none. It didn't shine in any field. But its Megas retconned that perfectly.
Charizard Y got great Special Attack and Drought. Stealth Rock and faster Pokemon are still a great threat, so it can't sweep, but is an excellent wallbreaker. They also changed it's design to be less fat, so that's nice. Overall, a huge improvement from Charizard.
Charizard X finally gets the Dragon-typing it always wanted, and gets a great Special Ability. 130 base Attack and Special Attack allows it to have diversity in it's moveset. Stealth Rock now isn't as devastating as before, and Dragon Dance allows it to get past the Speed barrier. It becomes a decent threat with just one Dragon Dance. Way better than normal Charizard.
Whatever you might think of Charizard, I think we can all agree GF did a great job with its Megas?
