>>39733185>excuse You mean their inspiration? It seems like you just have a problem with the concept and not how without anymore thought really into why. Pokémon being made bigger to add to the “Pokémon but on the big screen factor “ is good, and makes battles feel more large scale. Raids are also a fun and neat cooperative experience to keep players interacting with each other besides against each other in battles and trading Now we can work alongside our friends and even strangers for the greater goal.
On a competitive side, this is also a neat concept. It’s Megas and Z-Moves put together, without the need of specific items and any Pokémon can do it. That alone makes it 50x more interesting in the grand scheme. The 3 turn limit also places more pressure on the player as not only do they have to predict what their opponent’s next move is, but also think about the most viable way to use the 3 turns. Also, most Pokémon in OU and UU right now have movesets with stat altering or setup moves, which become an automatic protect for the Dynamax’d Pokémon or both it and its partner, so theoretically most Dynamaxed Pokémon will have a counter for one another regardless of typing or other factors. They also revealed that for the main game, Dynamax can only be used in certain areas like gyms, raids, and other tournament arenas, meaning you can’t blitz through the story using your overpowered nuke against every helpless trainer.
All of this combined makes for a mechanic that had a lot more thought put into it than just “UNGA BUNGA MAKE POKEMON BIG”. Pokémon has always had silly concepts like this, try not to judge a book by its cover
