Anyway, this character is an explorer who loves to draw and write about the biomes and cities he visits and he saves funds to go look for legendary pokemon and tries to solve puzzles like the mystery of the Unknown and the Regis.
Each of his mons (mostly) have some relation to exploration and/or some type of real life myth or legend people chased after. For example, Electivire represents bigfoot.
He's an easygoing guy that makes friends but he's bad paying friends back so that can be an issue when he travels to places for temporary work residence. Speaking of which, he sustains himself with articles he submits to many circulations and artwork. When things get dicey he often competes in gym and league challenges for money, even taking on random trainers for pay.
This picture is very deep into his adventure, so it looks like he has a lot of powerful pokemon but it took a while and most of the pokemon on the side stay back at the wilderness near his home village whom he visits semi-regularly. The mons closest to him are the ones most regularly with him.

Also sorry the character art is poor, I used some online character creation tool because I'm still not a great drawer. Willing to take design points too.
