For now just enjoy the fuck out of the series by going in order of release of the windows games, so start with Touhou 6 Embodiment of Scarlet Devil then work your way up, skipping the gimmicky non mainline games. Start on normal mode if you have no shmup experience, 1cc all the games on normal, then go back to Touhou 6 and start again on hard, then again finally on lunatic. That's the best part of the games. Scoring is shit, I only did it because the touhou fags I was hanging around with on IRC said they'd ban me for talking shit about scoring and bullying them in general as well as saying scoring is easy unless I got a WR in a month.
