There's even more reason now to be skeptical due to their insistence on the Switch being a home console. This is something that I didn't mention in the original reply, but yes, Nintendo themselves keep insisting that the Switch isn't a handheld first and foremost, which allows them to keep prices high.
The question is, is there a market for a pure handheld? Will the games on the Switch keep its sales high enough to be worth killing the handheld market?
Remember, you're saying that they'll completely give up on a profit revenue, with an idea that "one size fits all" when even Sony and Microsoft are moved away from that with their "pro" versions and Vita TV.
It's one thing that say "third pillar" when you're making up a gimmick out of your ass, it's another when you're giving up a whole platform.
