done with this dumb calculation meme. I'm kinda disappointed in how boring these spreads are, but honestly I don't know what else I should've expected.
>>46317606>Have you decided what kind of HM system you'll implement?I was thinking I'd let the player use any move that could have the same function as the respective HM move. Like Slash cutting bushes. The action would still be locked behind the gym badges. Don't know how I'm gonna handle Surf yet. It's part of a lot of mons' learnsets but the majority can't really make use of it well due to their attack stat distribution. So a solution could be to just let any mon that learns Surf surf, or to give the Surf field effect to a bunch of moves only those mons could learn. All this applies to Waterfall and Whirlpool, too.I think Whirlpool is easily one of the most learned moves in the dex.
>hopefully there'll be some unique typings in the gameThe starters have some pretty rare combos already. Fire/Steel, Grass/Flying and Water/Dragon. There's a ton of previously unused combos too, like Bug/Dark (a leech/mosquito monster and a spider mandrill) and Normal/Rock (three little pigs), or the infamous Bug/Dragon typing. Not that I designed my mons to fit certain typings, that's a flawed approach imo. They just happened to fit those the best.
I hope I can manage to implement all the abilities and items I want to, cause then it'll be double the fun. The Bug/Dragon is planned to have Dry Skin, Fluffy and Tough Claws. Three completely different playstyles all on one mon, with the stats and movepool to pull it off. One of my favorites.
Went on a bit of a tangent there. I'm excited for when I'll be able to dedicate more time and energy to actually executing it.
