And if that's the case, why not do Bulbasaur or Squirtle, that way you just have the odd starter out?

But just because a starter is or isn't fitting doesn't mean that they'll be chosen.
And my logic for Blaziken is also why I don't see any of the Kanto starters being chosen, nor the remaining Hoenn starters.
