I normally view torterra, venusaur, and chesnaught as tanks, m-venusaur and meganium as outright defensive, and sceptile and serperior as awkwardly offensive.
I don't know if we should argue on if "tanks" are offensive or defensive, because afaik, it just means a lot of each and no speed.
