Sycamore and Lysandre at one point were the same character, the former being a scientist who was exposed to a space rock, with the Lysandre-half being when the alien's leader takes control of him. First, I'll note that Team Flare has a clear solar theme, and is evidently named after solar flares. Admin names derive from both flowers and the classification system of solar flares, in all localizations.
A (Aliana), B (Bryony), C (Celosia), M (Mable), X (Xerosic). Lysandre's final battle background is also notably on the Sun, with solar flares visible in the distance.
Everyone on Team Flare wears visors that covers their eyes, except for Lysandre and Malva. However, in his final battle, Lysandre also wears a visor, and Malva wears heavily tinted shades. This not only fits the described M.I.B. aesthetic, but also could've been a plot point in early XY, where Team Flare wore visors over their eyes to hide their inhuman nature. Notably, in USUM, the Ultra Recon Squad, who are effectively aliens, also all wear visors, and their revealed eyes are very unusual compared to other human characters. Xerosic also has white skin, like those in the Ultra Recon Squad.
