Blasted through Blue in around 4 hours so no updates sorry. I'm trying to get through Gen 1 as quick as possible because it's not particularly fun to play and no matter what it'll be piss easy.
The No PC rule was pretty fun. Couldn't deposit items so I was stuck with stuff like the SS Anne ticket the whole game. It forced me to not horde rare candies and TMs like I usually would. Golem carried the team hard. Not being able to use it in Johto will be interesting. Victrebel was a lot more useful than Vileplume ever was. Both the non-bulba Misty killers are retired so that'll be fun to deal with later.
