eventually once I had my own income I got a 3ds and pokemon moon.
I hated that pokemon were switched to 3d and that the colors of everything were washed out. Battle rev and the previous battle sim games did 3d pokemon great and theyve never been able to do it as well again
Even the mystery dungeon games were better off in 2d. Pokemon just work better with sprites and dark colors. A more graphically intensive game in the style of detective pikachu could work for me. I think the best recent 3d take on pokemon is detective pikachu then pokemon snap
