A good friend of mine is working on the development of the Crown Tundra right now. We are usually very busy so we cannot speak frequently. This time I asked about the plot and some details of the first 2 hours of dlc gameplay, next time I will ask about new Pokémon.
This is what I have for now:
- Your teammates on the exploration team are the rivals from the main story. Hop, who will be working on an investigation there, and Bede and Marnie, as they are now Galar's strongest gym leaders.
- The crown tundra story begins with Hop entering your home, just like the beginning of the main story. He tells you to hurry up and go with him to the town's train station. the scene where we are invited to the expedition in the crown tundra belongs to the end of the first part of the dlc,
- As we enter the train, we will find Bede and Marnie sitting together. There is a cinematic while we travel in which we see Hop talking about the research he wants to do, we also see that Bede and Marnie get along surprisingly well, this quite surprises Hop.
- the train stops at Carexton station, a small town. Its largest building is a small library where there are books that slightly mention Calyrex. something about a certain "crimson cataclysm" is mentioned in one of them.
-The plot focuses on exploring the area to find information about Calyrex and its relationship with legendary pokémon, both from Galar and from other regions.
- Legendary birds are NOT Galarian forms. However, it seems that their transformations are due to the aura that a certain Pokémon has.
- Bede and Marnie disappear, Hop begs Calyrex to help us find them. Calyrex shows us their pasts and their futures instead. It is revealed that Marnie was Bede's best friend in the past, however she and Piers escaped from the orphanage. Losing her friend was what made Bede's behavior worse, but over time they both forgot about each other. According to him this is important to the plot.
