Aegishlash always looked pretty ugly to me, the design of the sword is just way worse than Honedge and Doublade, and a sword holding a shield is a worse concept than a sword holding its sheath. I also dislike how the line basically goes "1 sword > 2 sword > 1 sword again lol". At least Doublade is a good eviolite mon so I can just pretend Aegislash doesn't exist.
Honestly, what they should have done was make them a split evo, like Honedge could evolve into either the attack focused Doublade, or the defense focused Aegislash. It would make more sense and it would let them get away with just reusing the sword design again instead of redesigning it for the worse for the final form.
