Because holy shit, they honestly fucking suck. I don't really want to start a genwar, but you'd think that with 100 new pokemon they'd be able to make better gym leader teams than RBY but they failed miserably.

They could have at least given Falkner hoothoot to spice up his team but instead it's just pidgey and bigger pidgey. Because of mud slap Falkner's battle also has a lot of dumb rng to it.>Misty just has a staryu and then a starmie that's a higher level and has better moves, GSC should be able to be on par with that, right? Absolutely fucking not. Bugsy has two useless cocoons and then a Scyther that's five levels below Misty's ace. Arguably the worst gym leader team in pokemon.>Whitney only has two pokemon, but it's fine. On par with Surge.>Erika has pokemon from three different lines. Morty could have at least been given a midreavus but gets a ghastly, two Haunter, and Gengar as his ace. His utter lack of different mons make him arguably the worst gym leader team in pokemon.>Chuck (futurely sneed) only has half the amount of mons Koga does: two. Koga's team is simple but better, two koffing and a Weezing, and a Muk. Koga's ace is also 13 levels above Chuck's, although I understand that in GSC you are lower leveled but this also shows how much lesser Johto is. I will be merciful and not mention level differences again because all RBY leaders have higher leveled pokemon so it's pointless to keep pointing it out.>Sabrina has four Pokemon, three being from different lines.
