I got a cheap 3ds to fix up, but the camera connector was too jank to do anything about, so I left it disconnected. It just black screens (or throws an error) with any camera feature, but idk what happens if it's connected but malfunctioning. Shouldn't matter if you don't use the one (1) camera feature. It wasn't a problem with Gates either.
