>>54420148It's always weirdly fascinating to see weirdos here bitch about "killing Pokemania" in context, y'know what I mean?
People phrase this as if Pokemania somehow could've kept chugging on, but do you guys genuinely not know how fads work? In what manner do you guys think that GSC onwards could've somehow magically kept the same sway when people physically can't stop aging and eventually just grow out of things they used to like? It could've been a carbon copy of RBY and it would've killed Pokemania, it could've been no sequel at all and it would've killed Pokemania, it could've been literally anything and killed Pokemania, a fad will literally die out by nature, is that unironically mind-bending to grasp?
Plus, it's kind of funny, for people that -actually- lived through Pokemania and aren't just retarded LARPers, what are you missing from Pokemania that you can't actually get these days? You can surround yourself with all the shitty low-effort brand merch all you want, you can revolve your entire identity around a children's video game, you can tune in every week to watch a low-budget anime, what actually is it? Is it really just people here who want to dance around the fact that they hate that their youth is gone more than anything else?
