Last year I was trying to finish my living dex and all I needed was a Diancie, which nobody was trading and, of course, was the sole mythical they didn't run during that year of mythicals. I made a random offer in some thread to breed anybody a shiny of their choice for one, and someone wanted a female Snorunt for their shiny ghost collection. It took like a week and one male shiny but I did it and got the Diancie.
Then during my regular story playthrough of Moon, I just happened across and was able to catch a shiny female timid Snorunt for myself. No HA or egg moves, but oh well.
Just today I was going through and hatching a few boxes of random extra eggs I had piling up, because I'm about to reset my game and didn't want to potentially delete something worth banking. Got a shiny female Espurr. Garbage stats, garbage nature, garbage ability, but it was never going to be competitive anyway so it doesn't matter. I'm gonna use it in my Ultra Sun team. Shiny Meowstic's colouration was a pleasant surprise.
