Please explain it to me like I'm retarded, because I am. I got one shiny from an outbreak but I didn't really know what I was doing.

If there's an outbreak with a shiny pokemon I want, do I save at the camp and catch everything, if no shiny shows up soft reset until one does? Or do I save at Jubilife? I'm so confused...
