They not only describe exactly and explicitly what Mega Evolution is, the games even goes out of its way to provide an analogy of Charmander evolving into Charmeleon and Charmeleon evolving into Charizard and then stating that Charizard goes a step further.
That's not a misnomer, that's a very detailed description. Is it really so hard to admit it's both?
