John Red - A lone-working Magmar who's absolutely and positively full of himself and just wants the Plate for bragging rights. He's a dick.
Arcanine and Growlithes (no name given) - A pack of Growlithes led by their mother, an elderly Arcanine. They want the Plate for safekeeping, as they consider it a valuable relic (but with no special pokepowurz). Once they learn the truth about it, they gladly help Mew on her quest.
Vulkan - A Typhlosion who leads a large collective of fire-types to get the plate. Vulkan is a darwinist, he has no actual use for the plate, he just wants it because he is the strongest and thus deserves to have it. Strangely enough, he approves of Mew's group entering the battle for the plate, and when he's ultimately defeated by her, he lets go of the plate without complains, saying that "[Mew] is the strongest. She has the right to bear the Plate."
