I remember the last time I saw it in action was back in 16 when I had about 6/7 threads up on /vip/ that all got deleted because the mod there did not like me, and the things I had done. Now /vip/ is a very slow board, so a deletion of 6/7 threads was a bit significant. I hadn't seen the practice since, so I figured it was too old school. It wouldn't surprise me though to see it happen though.
It's kind of a dual edged sword the practice, sure, it gets rid of all the posts, but there's a risk of deleting a lot of content, and several threads, depending on how active the poster is.
e.g. if the practice was done on me, we'd lose this thread, and 3 others on /vp/.
It's not that I don't agree or understand the process; I just find it a very risky delete all button that was deemed "Too Risky."
