The interior is more stylized to look like an underground crypt, complete with moss growing on the walls. The actual battle area is on the top level, with more modern architecture like metal flooring and a skylight in a hexagonal pattern.
>>What trial or puzzle would challengers have to complete to get a badge?The gym challengers have to press several buttons on each floor (3 in total) to rotate sections of the floor in order to create a path to the staircases at the edge of the fort (like a sliding puzzle). After completing each puzzle, the challenger is quizzed on Pokemon lore (ex: "How does Kyurem relate to Reshiram and Zekrom?" "Which fossil is the oldest currently known?" ect ect)
