Starting with Gen 2's remake the player trainer effectively starts having canon legendary pokemon on their teams
Gen 2's trainer has Lugia/Ho-Oh! and Suicune
Gen 3's has Groudon/Kyogre, Rayquaza, Latios/Latias and Deoxys
Gen 4's has Giratina
Gen 5's has Zekrom/Reshiram
Gen 5'2's has White/Black Kyurem
Gen 6's has Xernes/Yveltle
Gen 7's has Solgaleo/Lunala
