Like I said, it's been done on purpose. I know that the romance was thrown in with little to no validity, that's what I wanted to do.
VoD is meant to be an adaptation of Black and White's story with alterations where I see fit, so already there's less heavy work involved. With the romance, I decided I wanted it to play out differently than people might expect. It's brought up out of nowhere, and doesn't go many places right away. That's why Tristan is uncertain about the idea initially; it just happened and he wasn't expecting it.
Think of it like it's developing in reverse. Or at least out of order.
I know that this approach isn't the best way to handle it, and I may not even accomplish what I want to do with it, but rewriting everything I've done to fit the 'slow burn' model isn't going to happen. Enjoy Draya, the overly forward Zoroark if you can, but if not, I hope the rest of the story on its own.
