Your best bet is to get stuff from the Pokemon Centers. Importing them is a bitch and I know plenty of people who've been to Japan and regret not getting anything.
The arcade machines (UFO machines in the arcades) have Banepresto pokemon plush (and other stuff). Those things tend to be really rare (because you have to play and win instead of just waltzing into a store and buying something) so try to win some stuff out of there. Even if you don't like the Pokemon, when you come home you can list that nigga up on ebay and make some sweet dosh on it.
Also, the Pokemon Kids figures are rad. They have them in the centers.
