>>50187660>I don't understand what the point is of criticizing Unova for being linear when the region still has plenty of optional locations and map connections to discover off of the critical path. The main story is linear but it's not like the region overall is lacking in exploration or complexity compared to earlier regions.Didn't like how it was structured. I like how other maps are designed, with major towns often being connected in some way (Saffron, Ecruteak, Lumiose, Mauville). Makes the region more fun to just walk around in, and you have reasons to revisit old areas periodically. In Unova you mostly just go forward, and never have a reason to turn around.
