If I run into a bunch of pokemon at once (5+), I will always check the pokemon I want to be shiny the most, last. It feels like superstition, but I try to justify it in 2 ways:
1) more checks before the one I want, the more rolls and therefore, higher odds (not actually how rng works)
2) chaos theory; 3 door gameshow* idea. Go against instinct and switch answers. (Granted switching back ruins this as it's more likely if you change it to something else, so it only loosely applies)
