Children might try to replicate what their player character does in their Pokémon Journey, so we don't want them going out on a Pokémon Journey of their own in Pokémon GO™ at night time to chase more Pokémon to send to Let's Go, Pikachu!™ and Let's Go, Eevee!™, where it can be very easy to get lost and end up somewhere dangerous.
Worry not, however, as the game still recognizes the time of day so Pokémon such as Alolan Rattata are still capable of evolving when it's night time according to the Nintendo Switch™ Clock, just as it would evolve in Pokémon Sun™, Pokémon Moon™, Pokémon Ultra Sun™ and Pokémon Ultra Moon™ when it's night time in those games.
