There are version-exclusive TMs now.
In practice it's not too big a deal now, but if they keep it going there's a chance that you'll need a whole extra game (and HOME or its successor) and/or console just to get the TM for a pokemon you want on your team. Worse still if that pokemon part comes from a DLC exclusive pokemon because apparently they can in fact charge twice for what is functionally the same content.
