Holy freaking SOUL, I forgot just how great these were. I've always had this weird inner rule against playing older games - I guess I just want to leave the past where it belongs. Normally I'd handle my hype for new games by spending more time on the most recent, but I didn't even buy USUM and have no desire to play XY or SM, so I booted up W2 for the first time since 2013.
Holy shit this game blows everything on 3DS out of the water. It starts almost instantly with very little in the way of annoying handholding or tutorials, the Route 19 music is pure soul in audio form, and the atheistic are so much more fun to run around in. Or maybe I'm just a nostalgia fag, I remember catching over 600 Patrats to trade my living dex from White to White 2 over the course of months and months.
Fuck GameFreak. But bless them too. I really hope Sword/Shield bring back some of the enjoyment.
