I understand that copyright reasons prevent movies from being close to the actual book, but it felt like Zack Snyder just pulled out chunks he thought were interesting and threw them together. I think the only good the movie did was bring up a fact that was overlooked in the books. I think it was book five where it mentioned that Nyra had a different mate before Kludd and that unknown owl was the original "High Tyto" before Nyra and Kludd banned together and killed the unknown owl.
Sorry for the long ramble. But that's a series near and dear to my heart.
