>>45218032IRL circumstances pulled me away from the run for a moment, but now:
>StevenBalto leads and OHKOs his Skarmory with Thunderbolt. Then Balto takes out his Aggron with two Thunderbolts, but not before dropping into the red. I see the writing on the wall, and I know Balto is not going to be helpful for the rest of the fight, so I send it to Thunderbolt the Metagross, and then immeditately dies. I send out Nemo, in the hopes that Nemo can tank the Metagross enough and do enough damage. To my surprise, Nemo's Surf spam is actually enough to take out that Metagross. However, it's too low to take out the Cradily, so I send it to Surf, and then die. After which I only have Hammond to solo the rest of Steven's team. I use Brick Break to finish off the Cradily, to which Steven sends in his own Armaldo. I managed to Ancient Power it to the grave, but didn't get any stat boosts. He sends in his Claydol as his last Pokemon, and though he's not doing a lot of damage to me, I'm also not damaging him enough to outpace him, and it looks like the run is toast. But at the most crucial point, Hammond fucking crits on Slash and takes the motherfucker down. Holy shit, a lucky crit salvages this run at the last moment.
And with that, Ruby is done! Only Hammond survives, sending Armaldo to the Hall, and banning him from future runs. Hammond ends as the MVP to end all MVPs.
This run was probably the one with the most close calls, and in the future, I'll probably level at bit more for the Elite Four. Up next, Sapphire.
